Money contributed by check or cash through the weekly offering is the most common form of giving. Several people give through the use of direct deposit with their bank.  All money received goes to the general fund, unless another fund is noted on the memo of a check or a note accompanies the gift.

Wills and Trusts can be made that designate the church as a designated beneficiary. Specific ministries, such as those in this brochure, can also be named. Contact a tax professional for guidance.

There are several places within the structure of our church where gifts can be given.

GIVE VIA GIVELIFY!

Givelify Logo

Bethel has an account with Givelify that allows donors to pay via credit card to Bethel.  Please note that Givelify charges 2.9% plus $0.30 per transaction (i.e. a $10 donation will give Bethel $9.41 and a $100 donation will give Bethel $96.80).

Currently, you can only give through an app on your smartphone or tablet.  Download the app through one of these links:

GENERAL FUND

The General Fund is the basic budget of the church and includes programs and operational costs. Contribution is made through our regular weekly Sunday offering.  The basic fundamental support of the church is the primary focus of our tithe. The Church Board and its committees are entrusted with the Special Offerings

Special Funds

CEMETERY FUND

The Cemetery Fund is an endowed fund that continually generates interest income. The fund is used for the maintenance and upkeep of the historic Bethel Cemetery.

BUILDING AND GROUND FUND

The Building and Ground Fund is a fund for emergency or unexpected expenditures to the church buildings and grounds. Routine building and grounds expenditures are part of the general operating budget.

MEMORIAL FUND

The Memorial Fund receives gifts of money in memory or honor of loved ones or friends. Gifts received in this manner may be given for a specific purpose or are combined with other gifts and used at the discretion of the Church Board. To designate for memorial giving provide the name of the person being memorialized or honored.

YOUTH FUND

The Youth Fund supports youth outreach and discipleship in and provides funds for youth camps, conferences and retreats.

 MISSIONS

We give ten percent of the church’s general fund to American Baptist Great Rivers Region United Missions, local missions and Bethel Mission Projects. Bethel Mission Projects include the Boone County jail ministry, nursing home ministries.

We participated in the American Baptist Missions offerings: One Great Hour of Sharing, American for Christ, World Missions and the Retired Ministers and Missionaries (RMMO).
